My dear OMD team members,

When it comes to this special time of the year when everyone is coming together, I just want to take this opportunity to thank some individuals for making OMD what we are today.

Florian, thank you for your work over the last 10 years. You’ve been here with me since the first days of the agency, and I have seen consistent high performance year after year. Your responsiveness is unparalleled, and I haven’t trusted anyone else to build websites as well as I do with you.

Thanks to the quality of your work, we’ve received many qualified client referrals from the websites we’ve built with our signature at the bottom. You are always there when we need you the most, and I truly appreciate you for being a reliable, trustworthy, and talented founding member of OMD.

Cyrel and Cindy, you both joined us 8 years ago around the same time, and this trio group with Levie is indispensable for our team. You have been unmatched examples of honesty, integrity, and hard work. Cindy, I remember how getting you on full-time felt like a bit of a stretch back then as I wasn’t sure we had enough work for you, but we’ve kept you constantly busy ever since.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding with your long-time boyfriend—I wish you two a happy married life together! Cyrel, thank you for introducing Cindy and Levie to our team. Your referral has been invaluable.

Levie, whenever something needs to be done quickly, you’re always there for me and the entire team. You are the embodiment of work ethic, accountability, and responsiveness. Over the years, you’ve continually expanded your skill set across various roles—from SEO specialist to HR manager, bookkeeper, client onboarding coordinator, and office manager. Whatever the need, you step up and fulfill it with excellence.

Steven, our first account manager who joined almost 7 years ago—can you guess who? The fun, kind, and smart account manager who can talk for hours without tiring! Since you joined, you’ve shown me that you can outdo me in managing and growing relationships with clients, even during tough times. You’re now managing a group of talented account managers, persistently delivering results for the clients and I hope you’ll stick around to hit your 10-year mark with us—we’ll give you a round trip to Sydney! 🙂

Mon, you joined 6 years ago after going through multiple test tasks set by me—and passed them all. We had some rough times at the beginning, with many arguments, but we worked it out. You’ve always actioned tasks quickly and taken feedback positively. Thank you for being with us for the last 6 years. You also introduced your cousin Jeremiah to our team around the same time. Thanks to his work, our OMD ads are showing more dominantly in search results, and we’ve received more enquiries than ever from Google Ads. Thank you, Jeremiah, for that!

5 years ago, around this Christmas time, Santa sent me a gift that was all I wanted—you, Sergiu! The moment I saw your test work on a landing page copy, I knew I’d found someone special. You are one of the few people whose work requires minimal input from me.

Clients consistently love your thoroughness and how well you listen and address their needs. Despite running through GHL training multiple times with the team or clients, you always do it with the same attention to detail. And yes, I’ve heard the comment “He’s so cute” from more than one female client—congratulations! 🥳

Around the same time, Sergiu suggested we needed a dedicated graphic designer, and after reviewing at least 50 portfolios, we found our designer gem—Kate. Thank you for giving us a more attractive work portfolio than ever that our team can proudly present to clients and prospects!

In 2020, I was introduced to two talented individuals from Serbia, a country that clearly has a wealth of talent—Dusan and Valentina. You have both taken OMD’s video production and social presence to the next level. Your content consistently attracts prospects from around the world and leaves a strong, positive impression of our agency even before they consider working with us.

To Mark, our dedicated telemarketer—even though you’re not physically here, I want to express my gratitude for your invaluable contributions. Your efforts in helping our clients connect with GPs, enabling OMD to reach our target prospects, and resolving many challenging debt collection cases have been outstanding. The moment people see your full name, they know they need to act immediately—thank you for your hard work and impact.

To our amazing content writer team—Daniel, Michelle, and Karmy, this year marks the first time in 12 years that we’ve had such a strong in-house content team. I vividly remember the days of reviewing and sending back numerous articles, but now, I simply skim through and feel proud of the quality. I confidently tell clients and prospects that our content writers produce work that’s better than any AI tool out there.

In 2022, we found Michael, and from the very first conversation, I was impressed by your manners and professionalism. I still remember how you offered to help carry my bag while we were walking in Melbourne CBD trying to find the MSI office. Over the past two years, your skills and digital marketing knowledge have constantly improved. Your dedication to ongoing learning is exceptional—you never miss an SEO training session, always show up on time, record client meetings, and bring energy and enthusiasm to every meeting.

Your emails and meeting recordings have become templates for our new account managers. Thank you for consistently demonstrating OMD’s core values to perfection.

Last year, around April on a Friday evening, I had an interview with a future account manager. Initially, the conversation didn’t seem too engaging (I noticed you were glancing at another screen), but as we talked, I was blown away by your work examples. I had never seen such a high-level SEO audit before. I knew right away that I’d found a star. Thank you, Louise, for completely transforming the SEO and content department to an unprecedented level. You’ve proven that with focus and determination, you can achieve any KPI or goal you set your mind to.

To Nikki, I’ve heard so much about your progress over the past year from Sergiu, Louise, and Dennon. Thank you for joining OMD on a full-time basis. I’m excited to see the positive impacts you’ll continue to make on the web department.

To Dennon - your attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and encouragement inspire the entire team, and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to work under your direction. Thank you for everything you do to keep things running smoothly and for fostering such a positive and productive work environment. You have definitely made some impactful changes for OMD operations for the last 14 months, especially the migration to Google Workspace.

To Martina, our youngest Account Manager, I see a younger version of myself in you—but I believe you have the potential to surpass even my best. The moment I watched you lead a client meeting and team briefing in person, I knew you had that X factor I was looking for. From your very first month working full-time at OMD, you’ve consistently demonstrated our core values: responsiveness, results-driven focus, proactiveness, and accountability. You have immense potential to shine, and I truly hope you’ll stay with us for many years to come.

To our newcomers this year—Bradley, Chit, Blu, Crisa, Tumani, and Jorge—thank you for choosing OMD as the place to spend such an important part of your career. You chose us for a reason, and we’ll make sure to take care of you for years to come. I’m eager to see your performance and how your potential helps take OMD to new heights.

Looking Ahead

2024 has been a challenging year for the economy overall, with rising interest rates, increased costs of living, tighter advertising regulations in the Australian market, and the disruptive impact of AI technology on the SEO landscape. These challenges have also made it harder to find quality new team members.

Despite this, the OMD team has successfully pivoted to international markets, gaining traction and opening new opportunities. This has been a strategic move to help us mitigate threats from Australian market regulations.

Looking forward to 2025, I envision a year of improved productivity, more refined processes and systems to enhance working conditions, expanded training to upskill our team, and more opportunities for our top performers and departments to shine through quarterly and yearly contests and promotions.
